About Us
Leukopaks are enriched leukapheresis products collected from peripheral blood. It is composed of mononuclear cells (MNC, T-/B-lymphocytes, monocytes, NK cells) with minimal contamination of granulocytes, red blood cells, platelets and plasma. Leukopaks contain a higher concentration of cells as compared to standard venipuncture collection methods or buffy coat products.
Our leukopaks are collected in our cooperative cell collection center in Vienna. All work is performed under EU compliant collection procedures according to controlled GMP/GCP conditions. These ensure a high consistency, high cell yields and a high reproducibility of our cell products.

MANAGEMENT
A pharmacist by training, with degrees from Ludwig-Maximilians-University München and Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. Klaus has been working in hospitals in Berlin and Nürnberg as a hospital pharmacist and joined the pharmaceutical industry, Hoechst AG in 1990. Since then, he has held various positions in medical, clinical development, new products and portfolio management departments at Hoechst, Hoechst-Roussel, Hoechst Marion Roussel and Aventis in the USA. In 2000, he was appointed Medical Director Austria for Aventis. In 2003, Klaus founded the CRO Assign Clinical Research (“Assign Group“) and the CMO ABF Pharmaceutical Services GmbH.
He has been involved with cell therapy in various concepts, predominantly dendritic cell therapy and clinical research since 2009. Under his supervision, ~400 clinical studies in various indications have been performed.

Senior specialist at the Department of Transfusion Medicine, Vienna General Hospital, Medical University of Vienna, with five years of experience in R&D at an international pharmaceutical company. Scientific consultant for various biotech start-up companies. Visiting professor within the EU and Asia Responsible person according to AMBO.
Over 30 original publications in international peer-reviewed journals related to apheresis, cell- and bone marrow manipulation, cellular therapy and transfusion medicine and numerous presentations at various international scientific conferences and symposia. Reviewer of various scientific journals related to transfusion medicine and cell therapy. Medical degree from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and Foreign Medical Graduate Examination in Medical Sciences (FMGEMS), Clinical Science. Thesis at the German Cancer Research Center, Heidelberg, Germany. Training as Principal Investigator for clinical studies (Diploma of the Austrian Medical Association) Cells and Cell Collection.
